You guys know I love my Monument Grill. Rain or shine (mostly shine here in [your location]), that grill is getting fired up. But what about when the snow starts falling and the temperatures plummet? Does that mean rotisserie chicken is off the menu? Absolutely not!
I recently took on the challenge of cooking not one, but two whole chickens on my Monument Grill in some seriously chilly weather. And let me tell you, the results were incredible. Juicy, flavorful chicken with crispy skin, all while battling the elements. If you're brave enough to face the cold, this cook is totally worth it.
Here’s the gist of how I did it:
I prepped the chickens by trussing them up nice and tight and applying a generous coating of my favorite seasonings. Pit Boss Poultry & Chicken Rub. Then, it was time to fire up the Monument Grill! I used two chickens to help maintain the grill temperature in the cold and ensure even rotation on the spit. My trusty Thermoworks RFX meat probe was essential for monitoring the internal temperature and ensuring those birds were cooked to perfection.
The key to cold-weather rotisserie is patience. It took a bit longer than usual, but the result was well worth the wait. Crispy skin, juicy meat, and incredible flavor – all while surrounded by snow!
Tips for Cold Weather Rotisserie:
- Pre-heat that Grill: Give your grill extra time to pre-heat in cold conditions.
- Wind Protection: If it's windy, try to position your grill in a sheltered spot.
- Keep that Lid Closed! Resist the urge to peek too often, as this will let out precious heat.
So, there you have it! Don't let a little cold weather stop you from enjoying delicious rotisserie chicken. Fire up your Monument Grill, grab your Thermoworks RFX, and get cooking!
